"I've Found the End of the Rainbow"
Don Winston was born in Anniston, Al in July 1984. He graduated from Gadsden State Community College and received a degree in Welding Technology. Today Don works in the shop as a fueler and washer for BR Williams Trucking Inc in Oxford, Alabama. In July of 2007 Don wrote a book titled "I've Found the End of the Rainbow”. It is a memoir that he wrote at the age of twenty which describes his struggle through foster care from 6-19 years of age. It is a journalistic narrative that is dramatic, humorous, heart-wrenching and real. It is a depiction of what is seen, felt, and heard through the eyes and into the mind of a child left alone without a real home to learn how to maintain and make it on his own.

Don says, “I started working for BR Williams and its staff became like a family to me. I am thankful to have a job and work under such great, gracious, kind, giving, and spiritual people.”

Don has been awarded scholarships from the Alabama Foster and Adoptive Parent Association and The Gadsden Total Evolvement Scholarship.
